We hate to nag, but...With Tidy Towns competition judging season upon us, adjudicators could be in town at any time. So, it would mean a lot to our hardworking volunteers if people could be a bit more conscientious and help us keep the public realm tidy. One way of helping would be by making proper use of local recycling facilities. We are very grateful for people who recycle bottles and old clothes, but these good deeds can be let down by people who dispose of inappropriate waste at bottle and clothes banks, as seen in the example photographs. A child's car seat and an old mattress shouldn't have been left at the clothes banks.Old bags and boxes, some containing cans (which could possibly have been recycled elsewhere), shouldn't have been left at theWaterford City and County Council County Council provides a very good amenity centre where awkward waste can be disposed of so there's not really any excuses not to do the right thing. It would also be a big help if people didn't leave shopping trolleys loose around town.Again, we hate to nag, but we're hoping for some cooperation and consideration to help Dungarvan retain our Tidy Towns gold medal status. The support we receive is very much appreciated. Thank you. ... See MoreSee Less
